pseudo sci-fi's

Many of my friends know that I dislike hollywood pseudo scifi's. Pseudo sci-fi's are those hollywood movies that claim to be sci-fis, with very few exceptions.

AI - This movie really has nothing to do with the field of "Artificial Intelligence"! It's just a simplistic fairy tale for adults (and kids). As you might have guessed, I like AI, and in particular, Strong AI. But this movie is just dumb. It's not really about AI, it's just about some 'dolls' that look and act like humans. I hope kids won't think AI is a dumb subject after watching this fairy tale movie.

I, Robot - Actually the movie itself is not too bad. But it's still not sci-fi. It'd be much much better if that robot-hating character (forgot his name already) turn out to be a robot himeself. (Thanks myrion, btw :)

Matrix - Matrix 1 is sci-fi. Matrix 2 is 20% sci-fi (the conversation with the architect on compiling, configurations, reboots etc), Matrix 3 is just an action flick (would have been better if computer won and reset the world...).

Okay, so I just checked the sci-fi ranking on imdb.com: http://www.imdb.com/chart/scifi .
They even put Alien and Terminator under sci-fi -_-.
And I also thought V for Vendetta, Spider Man, and King Kong are not sci-fi? (but I don't have plan to verify these any time soon).

男女不平等

想到一個男女本質上的不平等。就是，女人的孩子肯定是她們的孩子。男人的就不能百分之百確定了 （以前沒有什麽DNA驗證的，就是現在，婦科應該也不會自動幫你驗）。（兔小姐還是比較‘毒’，說如果發現了就應該立即踢出家門)
那麽由此推論，以遺傳的角度來看，男人應該比較害怕伴侶跑去偷情。可能就是因此，男人特別忌諱“戴綠帽”。

Hong Kong

Ben and I worked on this as a 20% project last year, and launched it in December. There's no search yet, and data quality is not that good yet. But at least, after so many years, I've finally done something, albeit very small, that could be useful to HK people. Now, I wonder when I can also use it regularly...

Thawan Duchanee

前兩天路過Stanford博物館借廁所，順便逛逛，才知道這位泰國畫家.
完全就是我喜歡的類型，東方，超現實，含蓄暴力，而且帶點邪惡 :P
畫家自己的介紹 :

My whole ambition as an artist is to materialize the image of irrationality (lust) with the most imperialistic fury and precision so the world of imagination and conquered irrationality becomes an object of the same durability and with the same meaningfulness and communicable thickness as the external world of phenomenal reality.

Fukuoka Asian Culture Prizes上說的:

His paintings are in an original genre, rooted in a unique Buddhist perspective. These paintings depict the insanity, degeneration, violence, eroticism and death lurking in the heart of modern man.

下一站天后

幾年前聽網友翻唱才認識這首歌的。
當時覺得歌唱有點意思，所以也對電影好奇起來。不過，之后第一次回香港時竟然找不到DVD，都說賣光了（我一向拒絕買VCD.)。當時也沒找到質量好的下載。

后來還是找到了，而去年底才真的去看. 確實就是想象中的低成本港產片。
本質就是一個超長版MTV， 只不過順便騙騙你戲飛/DVD錢。
特別是最后拒絕去日本，真的很假。

Bolansa

milpitas欧化mall那家甜品店.
上次和J's去的時候就見到他們又魚皮餃河了。不過他們說被人投訴，所以以后都沒得供應了。可是, 昨晚再去的時候又說有得賣。
魚皮比香港那些薄很多。最沒想到的是魚皮包著的是那種假魚片，不是豬肉。
所以這個真的不可以說是魚皮餃，雖然總體味道也不算差。
下次試試云吞面吧。這次的雞蛋仔不如上次，不夠熱。

外出

裴怎么可以接近24小時戴著他的眼鏡，包括睡覺的時候和大部分親密場面。
片子其實很慢。又是果種如果主角不吸引就完全看不下去的。看制作花絮發現這片拍的很認真仔細。原來一些很簡單的鏡頭（兩主角在窗邊講兩句那種）都要拍半天。

美人

韓國文藝片，18禁。英(法)文名為'la belle'。
中文名‘愛的軀殼’就比較俗氣。
片子故事就是那種文藝片式地簡單。大部分對白其實‘看’（字幕）不懂，不過故事是簡單到可以看圖說話那個地步。畫面很美，比我看過的三級片大膽，可是不色情。
看網上某些評論竟然說這片是關於性，難道他們沒看過A片的嗎。我認為這片是純愛情文藝。

黄金甲

虽然经过了在LA'十面埋伏'的教训，还是跑去支持了一下'国片'。还好比'十面'好看。美术是不及最近补看的‘夜宴’了，可是故事算是比较合理， 追杀和进宫的场面也不错。而且片名也實在比同類型的片子好。（‘夜宴’最爲不知所謂）

其中比较不自然的只是‘周’为什么那么听他妈的话，不过她兔小姐说那是因为原著‘雷雨’没有这个情节的。他也颇无辜的，虽然不特别值得同情。
老周的国语竟然有那么好? 跟龙虎时期的差别太大了。真的还有点怀疑是别人配音的。。
英文字幕竟然把重阳翻成‘菊花节’了，真是乱来，不知道特意用菊花，是有没用什么典的。我看的时候还一度以为是生物武器：‘菊花毒‘。。。
最后，这片不知道会不会影响了中药的声誉？希望不会吧。

‘無神論者的巴別塔’上的review寫的很用心仔細，不過有大量spoilers, 所以還是不link了。

補：兔小姐告知原來片名是出自黃巢的詩作《不第後賦菊》：

待到秋來九月八，
我花開後百花殺。
沖天香陣透長安，
滿城盡帶黃金甲 。
